Dermal fillers are non-invasive treatments used to rejuvenate the face, without the associated risks of general anaesthetic, long treatment time or surgery. They are used to enhance your lips, treat laugh lines, fill facial lines from the mouth to the chin and restore volume to features.
At birth, we have plenty of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) content, which plays a role in the suppleness, hydration and youthful appearance of our skin. As we age, the levels of HA diminish, leaving the skin feeling older. The natural collagen and elastin in our skin diminishes as well, resulting in dryer, thinner skin that is very susceptible to wrinkles. A dermal filler acts on the wrinkles, lifting and smoothing them by hydrating, adding volume and making you appear more youthful.

The product temporarily fills wrinkles, restores volume loss and enhances features by lifting and supporting the skin in the area being treated.
The initial effects of the treatment are seen straight away but it can take up to 14 days to see the full effect.
Thank you to our patients for allowing us to share their amazing outcomes at Geans Clinic.
The effects of the treatment usually last between 6 and 8 months, this will vary from person to person. The average effect of treatment to the lips is less than in other areas due to the high vascularisation and action of the lip area.
Deep lines will be softened and may take a couple of treatments until the optimum result is seen. Fine lines can almost disappear.
Millions of people worldwide have had these injections and the safety of the product is well established. The injections are fairly painless and may cause a minor stinging, redness, itching or discomfort. This reaction may last for several days.
Very rarely reported: occlusion and compression of blood vessels in the area, can lead to skin necrosis (skin death) and permanent scarring. It is important to let us know any problems straight away as a dissolving injection can be used to resolve issues like this quickly and effectively.
The topical anesthetic will help reduce any initial discomfort from the needle and most dermal filler products contain lidocaine so assists in reducing discomfort. Due to the use of a needle there is likely to be some bleeding or bruising at the injection site.
The treatment should have no discomfort afterwards. Some swelling and redness is normal and expected for a few hours after the treatment.
For 12 hours after treatment we advise that you avoid sun exposure, extreme facial expressions, alcohol consumption and applying make-up.
For 2 weeks after treatment, avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and saunas. It is important to avoid touching the area injected unless advised by your practitioner.
Following your consultation, you will be provided with a written estimate of costs for treatment. This is based on the materials or products to be used, and complexity of the procedure. You will always be given clear transparent costs and there will never be any hidden costs or surprise bills!
