People can have up to four wisdom teeth, two on top and two on the lower. They typically erupt between ages 17 and 25. Some people may have fewer, or no wisdom teeth at all.

At Geans Clinic we are fortunate to have our Consultant Oral Surgeon, Dr Shrina Nathwani who will invite you for a consultation where you will examined and have, if appropriate X-rays and or 3D imaging (CBCT) to assess the tooth’s position to neighboring structures.
Your dentist or oral surgeon will explain the risks, benefits, and options.
You may be asked to follow certain instructions if sedation is used.
During the Procedure, the area is numbed. A small incision is made if the tooth is impacted. The tooth may be broken into smaller pieces for easier removal. Stitches may be placed to close the gums (some dissolve on their own) The process usually takes 30–60 minutes.

You’ll receive aftercare instructions, medications, and possibly a follow-up appointment.
