iTero Scanner

The iTero imaging system is an advanced intraoral scanner which is designed to capture highly detailed 3D images of a patient’s teeth and gums, providing a comprehensive view of their oral health. The iTero scanner can create time-lapsed images that show changes in oral health over time. This allows our experienced team to monitor the progress of treatments such as orthodontics or assessing the wear and tear of teeth.

Unlike traditional dental impressions, which involve uncomfortable trays and moulds, the iTero scanner uses a handheld wand to take precise digital scans of the mouth. This cutting-edge technology improves the patient experience and enhances the accuracy and efficiency of dental procedures.

OPT/ CBCT scanner

Geans Clinic if proud to offer onsite digital OPG (short for orthopantomogram) and CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography). OPG scans produce panoramic images of your jaw and teeth in order to spot problems with wisdom teeth, bone loss, jaw fractures, orthodontic assessments. CBCT scans produce high-quality 3D images to determine the width, depth, and density of the jaw bone, sinus cavities, and nerve cells when planning dental implants or extraction of wisdom teeth.

Having this machine on site, allows our patients to conveniently have appropriate images taken at Geans Clinic, assisting with diagnostics, and surgical planning as well as investigation of lesions.

EMS Airflow

EMS Airflow is a dental cleaning technology that uses a combination of air, water, and fine powder to remove plaque, stains, and biofilm from teeth. It’s a gentle yet effective method for polishing teeth and cleaning around the gumline, often used in conjunction with other cleaning procedures like scaling. Airflow uses a controlled stream of warm water, air, and a specially formulated powder (usually sodium bicarbonate or erythritol) to gently blast away plaque, stains, and bacteria from the tooth surface. EMS Airflow is often used as part of a Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) approach, which involves a comprehensive assessment, biofilm identification with a disclosing agent, and targeted removal of biofilm, stains, and calculus.
