About this treatment

Adults choose to have braces at Geans Clinic to address crowded, crooked, or misaligned teeth in the most conservative way. Braces in adults can also help address bite issues (overbite, underbite, crossbite).

Geans Clinic also recommends braces to treat shifting teeth later in life (often caused by the consequences of gum disease or loss of previous dental work). In adulthood, patients may have desire for a more confident smile.

A straighter smile will also help improve oral hygiene because straight teeth are easier to clean.

What types of braces do you offer adults at Geans Clinic?

At Geans Clinic we are so fortunate to have our experienced consultant orthodontist, Dr Tsang, who is trained in a variety of systems, giving our patients much more choice over the type of brace they want or need for their individual needs. Geans Clinic offers:

How long will treatment take?

Typically 6-24 months, depending on case complexity. Sometimes we may need to make minor corrections, which may take less than a year. It is however crucial to be wearing retainers afterward to maintain results for life.

Do you offer any payment plans?

Due to the length of time braces take, we are able to split the cost of treatment over the length of your course of treatment at convenient 4-6 weekly payments meaning you do not have to worry about any large initial bills, and allowing you to forward plan payments without involving any third party finance companies.

How do I know if I am suitable for braces?

You are never too old to receive brace treatment. In adulthood however we need to take a few extra things into consideration; bone density is lower than in teens, so teeth may move slightly slower, some adults may need pre-treatment (e.g., periodontal therapy or restorative work), commitment to wearing aligners and retainers long-term is essential.
